Over the last decade photographing people, I've learned that the best photos don't happen because I tell you where to stand or what to do with your hands. They happen because you trust me enough to forget I'm there.
My job isn't just to take photos. It's to create a space where you're totally present. Where your mum can cry without worrying about the camera. Where your partner forgets we're taking photos because you're too busy laughing together!
Where the hugs last a little longer.
Where your grandparents become part of the story.
After photographing more than 150 weddings, I've learnt that the best moments never happen because they're directed. They happen because people feel safe enough to forget the camera is there.

I don't think I fell in love with photography. I think I fell in love with what photos become.

That's why I do this.
Not because I love cameras.
