If you’re planning an elopement in Dubbo or the Central West and you’re thinking of somewhere quaint, picturesque, intimate and a place where you can also stay, look no further than The Repose in Dubbo.

In early March of 2022, Harriet and Jake had their very own elopement at The Repose after deciding they didn’t love the idea of a big, traditional wedding.

“Once Jake and I became engaged and discussed how we would like to get married, we both agreed it was going to be a very small ceremony. It was important to us that both of our daughters were involved on the day, and that we could really soak in the whole experience as a family.”

They decided having an engagement party with family and friends the weekend before was the perfect to celebrate with all their loved one, but enjoy the intimacy of an elopement for their actual wedding day; it meant all of the big celebrations were done without the pressure of it being a wedding. Then, with just a few of their most immediate family members, they were married on March 11th 2022 at The Repose.

“The venue itself was perfect, a quaint cottage with a sweet little courtyard and olive trees – a dream. We stayed there the night before and the night of, which made the elopement feel like it lasted a few days!”

“Our vendors were all incredible, and I definitely chose ones that had similar styles and ideas as me, and then just let them do their thing! I feel like creatives tend to do their best work when you let them have their creative freedom. When I met with Amy, I knew that I had definitely made the right choice in photographer and had no doubt the images would be divine. I was pretty relaxed with the whole process of organising an elopement but the one area I didn’t want to compromise on was the photographer, as these memories will be so cherished, we wanted them captured well (and we definitely got that!).”

“Jake and I both wore linen, which matched the relaxed but romantic vibes we were going for and even wore matching RM Williams boots! My dress was from Dissh and was the right combination of the classic/vintage style that I love. I even made a last minute decision to wear a bow in my hair, because why not!”

“The day was magical. We woke up, enjoyed a coffee and breakfast while we slowly started getting ready for the afternoon ceremony. Everyone arrived by 3.30pm and we gathered in the courtyard for all the official business. Pippa Moore, our celebrant, was so delightful and matched our energy perfectly! Once we had exchanged rings and signed our marriage certificate we celebrated with some champagne and played our wedding song as we all toasted to the new Mr & Mrs Ryan!”

We stayed at the cottage enjoying champagne and the most amazing grazing table from The Harvest while we got photos taken and enjoyed playing with the girls. Getting photos, we felt totally at ease and the whole process felt very natural. By the evening, we were eating pizzas and still soaking in all of the magic from the day, feeling so grateful we did such an intimate elopement.”
